SARASOTA – What began in 1998 with five founding members is now internationally recognized. Sarasota Film Festival wrapped its 21st year with big plans for the future.
SFF President Mark Famiglio says this was their most successful event to date and are anticipating a 15-20% rise in attendance above previous years.
“We know we’ve served more members of the community and partnered with more non-profit groups than we ever have before,” said Famiglio.
With the fest barely wrapping, SFF has its finger on the pulse of what comes next.
“We are moving to our new headquarters. It’s going to be a state of the art building and there are very few other film festivals in the world that have that,” said Famiglio. The new, modern brick and mortar home of the festival will be located in Sarasota’s downtown district, close enough to continue its deeply embedded work on the Suncoast.
